Marilyn here...

Just a quick bulletin tonight... Jon still poorly. They took him off the epidural and he has been very sick which, I am sure you can imagine, is agaony with such a big wound. This is a normal reaction and they say he is still doing fine medically. He has been moved out of high dependency and back into his room. He's exhausted and fed up and we are all hoping for improvement tomorrow - day 5.

Jen will be commuting to work from here from tomorrow and Oli will be back in the week and do the same. I will still be passing your messages so thanks v much for those. Can't think of anything witty to say tonight so will sign off.

Love to you all....

  1. Sorry to hear that Jon's suffering. But as the docs are saying that he's on track medically then that must be the good news. No doubt his normal wicked sense of humour will resurface shortly and he'll have all the other patients in stitches (even if they already are !). Please tell him to keep his pecker up ! And give him our love. Dave & Val

    Jon

We're all still thinking of you and hope that you get some relief soon.

Trish and I went to Guernsey yesterday from Fairoaks, airplane door next to me came open just as we took off, you nearly had me land on your head as we circled over Woking!

    Sleep tight

  3. Jon & Family,

Thanks for the updates. Hopefully with some of the attached pipes disappearing you will soon feel better.

Why Malcolm and Trish don't go in a proper airplane beats me.

    All the best

PS how do you get the blog to say 'Phil and Sandi said' instead of Anonymous ?
Technical issue - sure Oli can answer!

  16. Hi Marilyn - sorry to hear Jon is feeling down and hope his pain will ease soon. Thinking of you both often. Tell Jon I have managed to obtain a whole list of Tommy Cooper jokes, but will only use them when his stitches have healed. Just noticed another Chris & Jane on the Blog, Jane got very confused when I asked if she had already posted!

  17. Time for some humour to lighten the load I think...

A pirate off the coast of England spies a merchant ship in the distance. “First mate,” he bellowed, “fetch me my red shirt!” After slipping out of his full-sleeved white shirt into the red shirt, he issued the order to attack.

Following the successful battle, the first mate timidly enquired, “Captain, sir, why did you want your red shirt for the battle?”

“Because I knew we would need to fight hand to hand to win our battle, and if I was wounded in the battle, and blood stained my white shirt, the men would lose the heart to fight.”

Later that week, the timid mate ran to the Captain. “Captain, sir, we see three British Man-o-War ships veering down upon us! What are we to do?”

“First mate,” he replied calmly, “fetch me my brown pants.”

    Arr....me hearties
