Have just got back from hospital and Jon is very upbeat. Jen and I caught him casually strolling down the corridor with his drips attached and that is the first time he looked like his old self. He then ate a jacket potato with cheese - they are pleased with his progress and have decided to try food again. He had a scan earlier that showed everything was normal in his abdomen. We had a laugh together and he clutched his tum as it hurts to laugh, so we will have to remember that!
Now about last night's blog... I would just like to point out that the naked photo is all Oli's idea and I wasn't consulted! You just may be lucky though... Not saying at this stage but keep those blogs going! I laughed out loud at your 'purvey posts' Phil, and so did Jon (clutching his tum in pain!). And Webby, it will definitely be Munroe, but on a bad day!
So, here's to our boy's continuing recovery and the speedy return of the Beales to the social scene!
Love
Marilyn

ReplyDeleteGet well soon for goodness sake. I can't take another night with the groaning, moaning Scotsman and boy does he snore! Got my own back last night though, one extra beer let me sleep right through and my gentle burblings justly kept him awake most of the night.
We had a really good few days but you and your humour was sorely missed. As you've seen from Jane and Tricia, we had really good weather in the afternoons, so Chris has his usual ruddy weathered face.
We played at Wimereaux today in a force 9 gale which tended to blow Colin's quiff about but Colin Peter and myself lost to the 2 Daves and Chris in a team comp. Chris is playing the best golf of his life but he now does a little pirouette on finishing his drive. One drive yesterday, he turned 180 degrees and then waltzed with Colin down the tee. Very odd behaviour!
Lovely golf courses, we must do it again. By the way you lost the 2008 'Oldies and Baddies' in case you haven't been told already. Decided to wait until you were better to play the 2009. Better late than never, but your boys were soundly thrashed.
No doubt Chris and the other will post their comments later but sounds like you're well on the way to recovery, which is bloody good news.
Cheers
Malcolm
ps Ask Colin about his Guzzler
pps If you receive an email from the Department of Health telling you not to eat
tinned pork because of swine flu - ignore it.
It's just spam!
all sounding really positive Darlings! great. Neville a bit disappointed by the back peddling re the naked shot mind you!
ReplyDeletemuch love xxx
Its tough being left handed and dyslexic
ReplyDeleteMade worse by good humour and eclectic
But reverse peristalsis
Makes gas hard to pass when you hiss,
But its all overcome by a smile that's electric.
Hope its good news.

AA here - Anonymous Andy that is...good news and bad news!
ReplyDeleteThe good news is that Jon is now firmly on the mend; the bad news (for Marilyn) is that the blog is getting perilously close to the magic number.
Could this be the next Twitter? If Oli could work his magic on the ad side, I'm sure I could do an IPO at £20bn.
And finally some random ways to annoy people
Push all the flat Lego pieces together tightly.
Leave the copy machine set to reduce 200%, extra dark, 17 inch paper, 98 copies.
Make beeping noises when a large person backs up.
Staple papers in the middle of the page.
Chew on pens that you've borrowed.
Andy
Blimey! Miss one day on the blog and all hell lets loose! Marilyn - you always were a game girl, so good luck with this one. I suppose it makes a change from seeing Jon naked. I know you say Oli dobbed you into this one, but it was obvious from the start that this blog would beat all records. Probably be all over by the end of today - shame it's so chilly. Meanwhile, back to the main topic - so wonderful to hear the good news about Jon's continuing progress. They won't want to release their star patient, but I bet he can't wait to be back home with you all. Lots of love all round. And I think you should do it Mal - you are still Miss Lovely Legs to all your friends. Love from the Simmos xxxx
ReplyDeleteWell Jon, what can we say - but sorry ! The Oldies missed your captaincy ! And I'm afraid Dave H and I just played like ...... ! Colin did his best to save us but the youngsters (???) were just too damn lucky !!
ReplyDeleteDave H and I were roomies, but apparently it was the Malc/Colin combination who won the overnight decibel prize (according to the independent adjudicators, Peter and Chris, who were in the room in between !).
Courses were well worth the trip, especially as we only got wet 2 or 3 or 4 .... times - but enough sun for us all to come back with a slightly rusty tint. Well it was either the sun or the beer ! We toasted you at every opportunity, so you must owe us a helluva lot of beers by now !! Looking forward to sinking a few of them together soon !
Keep on improving. Cheers
Dave Bj
Fantastic news from the scan and wonderful to hear you are laughing Jon, even though it hurts!
ReplyDeleteMarilyn you can be a dignified naked lady as in Calander Girls!! Just a thought. Hope all the drips are out again very soon. Loads of love the Smiles xx
Great news on the medical and eating front! Just get rid of the drips and you'll be off. I suspect that Oli wants to use the photo of Marilyn in some advertising campaign or other, now that's a very accommodating mum! Love and kisses, Pam and Jan xx
ReplyDeleteMorning Jon,
ReplyDeleteI am sorry but I disagree with Malc's assessment of my swing, it is definitely a Tango rather than a Waltz. The boys just don't appreciate style being brought into the sport. As Dave BJ says, there was a drop of rain, but it would not be one of our tours without it. The afternoon sun more that made up for early damp conditions. One small downside, Colin beat Peter and myself down to breakfast on the last morning. The shame still haunts us. I had to get the 'Lads' to bump start my car on the way back! While waiting at the Channel Tunnel (1 Hour) we had the fan and air con on and flattened the battery. Didn't think they were going to let us on at one point. Very pleased to see you are feeling a bit better and hope your progress continues quickly. See you soon.
Chris
ps: If there are any spelling mistakes on this it's because, having borrowed Dave BJ's reading glasses while on holiday, I now realise mine are complete rubbish.
Jon!
ReplyDeleteAt last Marilyn is getting some well deserved attention too! Looks like you are nearly on your way out of hospital and may I just mention the cakes are going to be enormous!!!
Lots of love
Joanna
I'm so pleased that things are moving slowly in the right direction, and the scan was clear. You're going to miss your friends the drips when they finally come out again.
ReplyDeleteI popped round to see Marilyn and Oli the other night and it was lovely to see them. Jon, ask Oli why I now call him Tolstoy.
I can't wait to see you when you get home I've got so much gossip for you to catch up with!
I can see the counter is at 1,895 and I bet I'm not the only one who wants to be number 2,000, can't wait.
Keep doing well darlings.
Loads of love.
