We were warned that day 3 would be difficult for Jon and that proved to be the case. Today he has been flat and emotional and in quite a bit of pain. However, he is philisophical and knows that this is par for the course. Tomorrow he will have the epidural detatched, hopefully without too much pain, but they've got it covered if there is.
Last night Oli went back to London for the weekend, I went out for dinner with Lynn and Gill as it was dear Jane's birthday and we always raise a glass and think of her. I was pleased to still be able to do this and enjoyed the break. Jen went round to her good friend Julia's house for dinner.
Once again, thank you so much for all your blog comments, letters, cards, calls, emails and texts. They are uplifting and help us to cope.
Until tomorrow - Marilyn XX

Sorry to hear that today was not a good day but at least you all have tomorrow. Our thoughts, prayers, and very best wishes are with you all. It must be very draining for you and wish we were closer at times like these. Glad you were all able to get a break. Take care, talk to you soon,

ps - sorry but I cannot get the image of the naked bum and stockings out of my head !!!
Jon, sorry to hear things weren't so good but I'm sure its just part of the healing process. Missed you today at golf, beat Mr Stone 4-2 but I think he was just trying to claim shots for the French trip next week. The group will be the poorer for you not being there but you will definitely be in our thoughts. Peter W
ReplyDeleteFinally found the blog again! Have to go through another route altogether. Think our PC is as convoluted as your poor body, Jon. A impressive support system obviously in place - only the best for our boy! So glad things are easing day by day and they haven't managed to plug your wonderful sense of humour. Fondest love, as always, Jon and the team, from the Simmos xxxx
ReplyDeleteIt was lovely to see you Marilyn, you looked fabulous as always darling, but could tell you you were a bit shakey. May the force be with you all and hope that this dip won't last too long and things will start to go in an upward direction.
ReplyDeleteLove you and thinking of you.

Thanks Lynn for sending me the link :-)
ReplyDeleteJon - who told you that you suited that hat?
Marilyn - so touched to hear that you were out celebrating mum's birthday on Friday.
The Phelps / Larby camp spent the time duly following her instruction to go out and do.....
Dad golfing in Florida (he loves a holiday my father!)....Vic sipping sangria in Barcelona (a present from friends who knew mum loved it there).... Chris securing a slot on the Guilfest line-up (Yes!! said dad)and me, well I was climbing mountains in the Lake District.
Many a wise word is said when things get a little tough. So...the pressure is on...Jon, I will be following your blog hanging on for those pearls of wisdom :-)
We are thinking of you all the time.
Just reading this it is clear to see that you have so much support.
We will see you very soon!!
lots of love George x x
I forgot to mention that while up the mountain I was helping the homeless!!!
