Another Good Day

We were warned of the up and down nature of recovery and, sure enough, Jon has been in better spirits today. Went for a long walk down the ward corridor with his drips (Jack Nicholson style for those film buffs out there!) in his gown and sat in the chair twice. Tonight he is trying food again and hoping the stomach doesn't reject it with projection again. They are also taking his drain out.

A short comment about Andy Yeo's jokes... Jon was able to finish the punch line on each one, but he says the oldies are the best and loves the fact that you are trying to cheer him up!

It also took this blog for us to realise the we have two sets of Jane and Chrises and two sets of Phil and Sandies as friends.. Don't worrry we can always tell which one it is when we read the comments.

Also, apologies to anyone who waded through Jon's brothers' NAGA report! For those of you who don't know, this is a golfing challenge that the Beale brothers enjoy everytime they meet up and Jon was supposed to be attending this one but had to cancel for obvious reasons.

Much love to you all out there

Marilyn

  1. Jon,
I'm hurt but presumably not hurting as much as you! So tonight, for a change, I will leave with a thought - replies on a postcard - Why doesn’t glue stick to the inside of the bottle?

  4. Hey Jon - sorry to hear you're so sick - we have all our fingers, toes etc crossed that you'll be feeling much better soon.

I remember you visiting mum after she'd had her gallbladder taken out, and you making her laugh so hard that she cried from the pain of her stitches. Hopefully you're enjoying a few laughs through all the pain.

Love to you and all the family.

    Jon

Sorry we won't see you before we disappear to France for golf but will be thinking of you and will raise a glass or two to you over the next 4 days.

I think I will particularly remember you telling Philip he wasn't to come on the green because bags weren't allowed!

Oldies and Baddies have been postponed, not least because you've got the trophy but we'll organise something later in the year.

Chris has been practising every day, he's having a lesson today so with luck it will have the same results that yours did. It only took you 2 years to get over it.

Hopefully you'll be out of hospital by the time we come back and we'll be able to see you before I go away again.

Have another good day and see you soon

    Cheers
    Malcolm and Tricia

  6. We enjoyed the golf report! Even thought we actually understood some of it, but probably not. Bad luck Jon on a lousy day back at the hospital. It's OK to be emotional - ask any woman! works every time - so we hope you got lots of extra fuss and attention in proportion. It will get better. Everyone on this blog is saying so, so it must be happening. Lots and lots of love Jon, and the same to Marilyn, Oli and Jen.

We seem to have had to revert to being anonymous again. Not sure why, but will beat the system by signing off as THE SIMMOS and see if "they" notice. Love you Jon xxxx

  7. Jon looks like he is going to lose the Naga tournament. However, there maybe a way back, remind him about the the dream golf round in the MRI machine where he played every shot perfectly and scored 50 points, I do not see why he cannot play "reality" rounds remotely, I can sign his card. After Robbie's hand of god shot I don't see why JB should be refused.I seem to remember playing golf with Jon and Robbie years ago in Sydney when he played a similar shot off a tree onto a green. I still hold a grudge from that game as I had been out with friends the night before and had the father and mother of all hangovers, I could barely stand and the swines made me putt out on every green and bend down and take the ball out of the hole. When you topple over the first time it can be funny but not on the first nine holes.
Closing thought if Vera is now known as Mummadona that must make Jon, Sonamummadona. Somebody clever out there must be able to make something of that.
Oh and pleased he had a better day. All our love J&RXX

  8. Hi Darling pleased you are feeling a bit better we have been thinking of you! I am "prancing" around in my Nora Battie stockings after my vein op - very attractive - not - we could do a double act! N's back is healing too. Krissy and Ross send you a big hug too, hope the projectile vomiting has finished - sounds like you are doing scenes from films there = The Exorcist vs Somethings Gotta Give - how many more before you leave? could be interesting! lots of love xxx

  9. Hi Jon and everybody who is waiting for the final results of NAGA 2009.

Before that though must tell you that there was great exitement down in Patterson yesterday when Bruce came rushing into the pub to say he had just seen Jordan running down the main street ! Bluey reckons he saw something similar but swears it was one of Macca's cows which must have got out. No sign of Peter Andre though.

Anyway here are the final results following an interesting day. As you know we were to play the final game of the tournament at Patterson but at the last moment Rob claims he has to pull out with the lame excuse that even though he is on holidays he has to spend the day releasing a media report in response to perhaps the most important Budget in Australia's history.

Accordingly Mark and Leo decided to play at Kurri Kurri which is half way back to Sydney.

Mark won easily and scored a point. Leo nil.

Fortunately we had a quorum (yes, 2 is enough) to consider Rob's poor sportmanship and adopting the "Rules are Rules" philosphy the Rules Committee decided that work is a poor excuse to pull out of a Naga Sanctioned event (not like bowel cancer for example) and reluctantly felt it necessary to impose the maximum penalty available which is 5 points.

    Therefore the final standings are:
Mark 5 points, Leo Nil, Jon nil, Rob minus 1.

Well done Rob, Naga for 2009. Good on you Nudger.

The NAGA crew are so pleased you are getting and feeling better and we all send you our love.

Get better soon and we look forward to playing with you again as soon as you are ready.

Who knows, it might have been Jordan and she may have settled in the Patterson area.

Cheers to everybody who has had to put up with our reports.

  10. Hi Jon

Just a bit of news from the office to cheer you up. We're pleased to say things are going smoothly without you. 'Dispensible' comes to mind.

Linda is off sick with whiplash but Jez denies using a whip.

Steve crashed on his bike. The bike is OK but Steve said it was a whole new experience riding without the saddle.

Joanna is pregnant. No. Only joking. It's Paull that is pregnant.

Most projects are being sorted but we've had to leave a few for you to take care of, just to make you feel needed. Only 276 queries. Sorry. Bad use of a word when one has a painful botti.

We've all decided to have a short notice holiday next week. They clash as usual but not to worry Joanna has arranged for half a dozen Polish friends to take over. Very cheap.

Keep taking the pills. The ones to build your immunity of course not those pink ones you take in the office.

    Take care

    John

  12. Jon, pleased to hear you are making steady progress. As Malcolm says we will raise a glass to you when we are in France but rest assured we have only postponed retribution for all those comments you made about Phillip. You'll be missed but I look forward to seeing you when I return. Peter W.
