Hello everyone, Marilyn here.

Sorry this is so late but the consultant didn’t turn up until 3 o’clock. The news is good and the surgery will go ahead tomorrow afternoon. Scans were clear but cannot give 100% thumbs up until they have had a good look around and analysed the parts they remove. That will be 2 weeks’ time but the surgeon will ring me tomorrow after the op and let me know more. We have left him there optimistic and getting on with the laxative pre-op procedure. He has been so touched by all your support and has loved the blog, so keep them coming and we will relay your messages to him. Oli and Jen are still with me and very comforting and supportive, so don’t worry about me – I will ring you when I need to.

  4. Jon,
Great news, we'll be thinking of you tomorrow. When we visit am not sure whether grapes will be the best, in the circumstances, but you know we'll eat them if you don't. Love to all the Beale team as well - an anxious time waiting for results. It's certainly been anxious for us! Keep smiling!! Our love, Pam, Jan and the rest of the Freds xxx

  10. Old Uncle Jon,
Dominique sends her love - she remembers sitting on your lap at the hockey club many years ago - funnily enough about the same time as her nightmares began! I did wonder whether the flash backs were as a result of the time you were sprinting (a relative term in your case) up the touchline and tripped over your stick...the ball of course was some 60 yards in the opposite direction at the time!

I'm sure everything will go well tomorrow and you will be back to your usual self soon enough...but in the meanwhile, I found this on the web...

Two doctors opened offices in a small town and put up a sign reading:
“Dr. Smith and Dr. Jones, Psychiatry & gastroenterology
The town fathers were not too happy with that sign, so the doctors changed it to:
“Hysterias and Posteriors.” This was not acceptable so they changed it again to:
“Schizoids and Hemorrhoids.” No go, so they tried: “Catatonics and High Colonics.” Thumbs down again, so up went: “Manic depressives and Anal-retentives.” This didn’t fly, so here came: “Minds and Behinds.” “Lost Souls and Assholes.” “Analysis and Anal Cysts.” “Queers and Rears.” “Nuts and Butts.” “Freaks and Cheeks.” “Loons and Moons” did not work either, so they finally settled on:“Dr. Smith and Dr. Jones, Odds and Ends.”

Love to you all and especially JB,
Andy, Catherine, Dominique and Etienne xxx

  23. Hi team Beale - sunny Devon calling. Glad to see you looking so well - but looks are deceptive. We're sure you'll continue to make good progress - how can you have time to be ill with all this to read? Good luck with the bag - I'm still trying to find 'baglady' shoes after 16 years - do you think ladyboy shoes would do? Love to you all Dave and Pat x
