I hope you enjoyed the video. Within 5 mins of being on youtube it had 40 hits! Thank God I didn't turn around.
I have had a really good weekend and I am making steady progress.
I am now getting a regular stream of visitors to the Lodge who are most welcome.
Jen called in today with Matt on their way back from a weeks holiday in Wales. As usual it was great to see them both. Jen just exudes confidence and joie de vivre. I am constantly proud to be her Dad.
When I was four we emigrated from central London to Rotorua in New Zealand where we lived for about 4 years. It was a tiny country town built in an extinct volcano crater. We therefore had an abundance of geysers, boiling mud and a permanent smell of rotten egg gas. The town was on the edge of a large lake with living Maori villages, built in traditional ways, around the shore. At the other end of town was Whakarewarewa another Maori village set amongst a very active thermal area. We lived half way between the lake and Whaka and it was a huge adventure playground for us boys. I particularly loved the boiling mud pools which gurgled and burped mud with a strong sulphur smell.
I wonder why I am now suddenly reminded of those days!
Much love to you all and a warm welcome to our new bloggers the Boyds.
love,
Jon; xx

Mum and Neville are currently in Scotland and so sans computer. They have just texted me and asked if I can text back with the details on your latest post. I am just not sure that 160 characters offers enough space to describe the video...I'll try...
ReplyDeletePleased that you are doing well, we have been thinking of you and the blog is brilliant.

Hi Jon,I was also impressed by your Rhododendrons and what can I say about the naked gardener...would you like us to send you some speedos? !
ReplyDeleteI have just returned from the 3rd Dungog (half an hour from Maitland) Film Festival - which showcases Australian Films. I stopped to take a picture of a tiny railway "station". An elevated platfom that was just big enough for a garden seat, just a bit of fence, a pole with a sign "surveillance camera" A loudspeaker (in the middle of nowhere) blasted at me "the next train on platform ONE goes to Newcastle via bla, bla, bla" platform ONE ...it was the only platform and would only hold 3 people standing. ahh I love travelling in Australia and Dungog was fantastic...(no sulpher, just cows...does that count?)
As I enter this message the count says 2,712 Visitors since May 1..today is June 1 in Australia - no doubt been one of the most extraordinary months of your life ...and look how loved you are - it is wonderful,I check every day for news. It's fascinating reading messages from so many different places.
Love to you, Marilyn , Oli and Jen..

Note to self - do not read Jon's blog while drinking tea. First the suggestion of using the bag for extreme whooppee cushion (which William described as "aweome")and then the naked gardener video meant that once again I suffered a tea/monitor interface. Glad to see things keep improving. Enjoy the sunshine. Tessa PS will try and give you a ring soon Marilyn
ReplyDeleteHey Jon,
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that you are having a spritly few days and getting some excersize in the garden!! I wonder if next door will report your antics to the council in revenge?
Look forward to seeing you soon. Sending much love as always.

Gorgeous!! and the Rhodedendrons look good too. Jane said the applications for the gardening job at chez stones, had to be in by last friday, but she will make an exception in your case. In fact you start immediately, sun tan lotion can be claimed on expenses.
ReplyDeleteLove from all the family, to all the family.
