I have just come back from an x-ray with the excellent news that the re-joined colon has healed perfectly and does not leak. I had an enema with dye in it which showed all was well. It was a bit of a shock to the system having activity in the bum again!
I will hear formally from my consultant later this week about the reversal but it should be all systems go in about 4 months time. Yippee!!

Excellent news, good for you - it's not every day that you can say you're happy about bum activity! It all sounds a bit sordid if you ask me.

ReplyDeleteNeville very kindly sent me a photo of himself with a drain bag from his recent back operation. I have been too upset to reply until now. I thought it was in very poor taste particularly as I have done my utmost to maintain a level of decorum and seriousness on this blog. I am however thrilled he has joined the survivors club. Hi Jon! Having had a lovely long conversation with Marilyn on the phone, we were all up to speed with your wonderful news. However, thought we would add to the burgeoning numbers on "hits" to get you up to the 4,000 mark, only to find that you have far exceeded it. What happened to the next photo? - or is Jen's educational contribution IT? Impressive as it is, it lacks personality somehow. I suppose it's on to the 5,000 mark now - phew!
